The "Tiered square-end" is the shape of a "pre-tied bow tie" that cannot be made by tying a "self-tie bow tie".
 
In the history of neckwear, tiered red ribbons can be seen in portraits of Louis XIV of France (1638-1715) and other nobility of that time. It was primarily used in combination with the neckwear of the time, known as the "Lace-cravat".
 
In the Victorian era (1837-1901), many designs of women's neckwear with square, pointed and oblique ends can be found.
 
Besides neckwear, this shape is still commonly used today as hair accessories and pump shoes for women. It seems that it is sometimes called Dior bow, but we do not know the causal relationship with Christian Dior.

歴史・流行 --------

ティアード スクエアエンド形は、｢手結び蝶ネクタイ｣を結ぶことでは作ることのできない｢作り結び蝶ネクタイ｣の形です。

 

ネックウェアの歴史上では、フランスのルイ14世(1638-1715)や、その当時の貴族の肖像画に、層状形(ティアード)の赤いリボンを確認できます。これは主に｢レースクラバット(Lace-cravat)｣と呼ばれる、当時のネックウェアと組み合わせて使用されていました。

 

ヴィクトリア期(1837年〜1901年)には、女性向けネックウェアのデザインとして、スクエアエンドやポインテッドエンド、オブリークエンドの層状形のものを多く確認できます。

 

この形はネックウェア以外では、女性用のヘアアクセサリーやパンプス飾りとして、現在でもよく使用されています。ディオールボウ(Dior bow)と呼ばれることもあるようですが、クリスチャン・ディオールとの因果関係は我々には不明です。
