Gordian Knot
This is a way of tying in which you cross the end parts after tying Square-Knot and finally fastening them with pins. Historically, it was originally one of Cravat's way of tying, but later it seems to have gained popularity as a knot for Plastrons or pre-tied-Ascot ties.
 
Plastrons or pre-tied-Ascot ties were also exported to Japan in the Meiji era, almost at the same time. From its appearance it was named Matanoji[Chinese character又], Matanaga[又長] ,Semigata[cicada-shape] etc.
