The bow ties are divided in two types: the Pre-tied bow tie and Self-tie bow tie. The Pre-tied bow tie is also called the Ready-made bow tie. Regarding the shape of bow ties, the "Butterfly" and "Pointed end" have been very popular for a long time. For this reason, the other bow tie shapes are not well known to the general public.

Therefore, we have done some research on various shapes and styles of bow ties that existed in the past, and have revived them. In addition, we propose creative bow ties re-designed by ourselves. This is because we believe it’s worthwhile to create new designs based on the history and transition of the bow tie culture.

Each design of the pre-tied bow ties are classified by the shapes of the tips of the wing.

蝶ネクタイは大きく分けて、作り結び式と手結び式の２種類タイプがあります。その内、予め結び目を縫って形作られているものを、日本では一般的に作り結び蝶ネクタイと呼びます。また蝶ネクタイの形状において、バタフライ形とポインテッドエンド形と呼ばれる２種類が歴史的に多く普及してきたため、その他の形については、これまであまり知られていませんでした。

そこでボウタイスペシメンズでは、過去に存在した様々な形のデータを集め再構築しました。また過去になかったであろう新しい形もデザインして提案しています。それは歴史と強いつながりを持った上での服飾文化の変化は、価値があると我々は思うからです。

ブランドで提案している作り結び蝶ネクタイの各デザインは、蝶の端(エンド)部分の形状によりカテゴリー分けされています。例えば長方形のものは｢スクエアエンド形｣という分類に属してしています。
