The "Wide-butterfly" bow tie is one of the oversized bow ties, which is a larger butterfly than the "Classic butterfly". It can be found at least in historical photos of the gentleman in the early 1900s. 

After that, in the late 1960s, in European and American, "wide lapel suit" and "wide necktie over 10 centimeters" and other unique and decorative style became popular, and that seems to have influenced the bow tie fashion of the 1970s.

Oversized bow ties that became popular in the 1970s were also called "big-bows." Our brand classifies the "Big-Bow" into three shapes.

These are the "Wide butterfly", the "Pointed bottoms", and the "Inflated bottoms".

歴史・流行 ---

ワイド・バタフライ形は、特大蝶ネクタイの１つで、｢クラシック形｣よりもさらに大きなバタフライ形になります。遅くとも1900年代初頭の紳士の歴史写真に確認できます。

その後は1960年代後半の欧米で、幅の広いラペルのスーツや、幅10センチ以上のネクタイなど、個性的で装飾的なスタイルが流行したことが、1970年代の流行に影響したようです。

1970年代に普及した特大の蝶ネクタイは、｢ビッグボウ(Big-bow)｣とも呼ばれました。当ブランドでは、ビッグボウの形を３つに分類しています。

このワイドバタフライ形と、｢ポインテッドボトムス(Pointed bottoms)形｣と、｢膨れ底(Inflated bottoms)形｣です。
