Basic Bow Knot
This is the most basic way of tying a bow tie. The word bow tie is considered to have begun to spread in Europe and America from around the 1850s, but the neckwear culture in which adults tie the Basic-bow-knot can also be confirmed from European paintings in the first half of the 17th century. It has at least about 400 years of history.

｢蝶結び｣は蝶ネクタイの最も基本的な結び方です。英語で蝶ネクタイを意味するBow tie(ボウタイ)という言葉は、1850年代頃から欧米で普及し始めたと考えられます。しかし、大人が蝶結びをして首回りを飾るネックウェア文化は、17世紀前半のヨーロッパ絵画などからも確認でき、少なくとも約400年の歴史があると言えます。
